Keynote Speaker: Dr. Ellen Galinsky President, Family & Work Institute

Ellen Galinsky is President and Co-Founder of Families and Work Institute. She is the author of over 35 books and reports, including the groundbreaking book, Ask The Children: The Breakthrough Study That Reveals How to Succeed at Work and Parenting, selected by The Wall Street Journal as one of the best work life books of 1999. She has published more than 100 articles in academic journals, books and magazines. At the Institute, Ms. Galinsky co-directs National Study of the Changing Workforce, the most comprehensive nationally-representative study of the U.S. workforce. She also co-directs When Work Works , a project on workplace flexibility and effectiveness funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation that has produced a series of research papers, and has launched the Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. She is also the Program Director of the annual Work Life Conference co-convened by The Conference Board and Families and Work Institute, and she staffs The Conference Board's Work Life Leadership Council, a group of 45 business leaders who have spearheaded work life issues in the business community since 1983.

Moderator: Sally Thornton President & Co-Founder, Flexperience

Sally is a dedicated professional and mother who is passionate about connecting talented professional women (most of whom are Moms who have "opted-out" in order to raise their families) with interesting, challenging business opportunities that respect their need for flexible work arrangements. Sally is a sought-after expert on issues related to flexible work practices and has been a featured guest on the KQED radio show Forum hosted by Michael Krasny, NBC11 News, Entrepreneur.com, ABC's View From the Bay, and BNET.com. As a dynamic speaker, Sally has spoken to thousands of women with audiences ranging from the high-powered "Women In Leadership" conference at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business to executive panels at Stanford Graduate School of Business and local conferences. Sally is excited to leverage her experience and expertise to help other moms find the right projects, and to help her clients find the right people. As she says, she is all about "win-win" situations, where the needs of working mothers are respected and the needs of the business are met with genuine enthusiasm and passion.

Panelists: Molly Anderson Director, Deloitte LLP

Molly Anderson is Director in the Deloitte U.S. Firms' Talent organization, which comprises a range of related disciplines including Human Resources. In this role, one of her major responsibilities is to lead the operationalization of mass career customizationTM--a pioneering approach to employee engagement and career-life fit and a signature initiative of Deloitte's Talent Agenda. Prior to her current role, Molly was the Executive Director for Deloitte's award-winning Women's Initiative, leading a range of programs to advance women through marketplace eminence, leadership development, innovation, and community-building. Molly has over 20 years of experience in management consulting with a particular focus on large scale organizational transformations which require the integration of processes, technology, and talent to deliver results.

Tim Stephens Partner, Ernst & Young LLP

Tim Stephens has more than seventeen years of information technology related experience including information technology risk management and auditing, systems implementation, business process requirements and analysis, as well as application development. Tim's clients include a broad array of multi-national Fortune 500 companies with complex information and technology management requirements. In addition, Tim is Ernst & Young's Flexibility Champion for the Pacific North West area. In this role Tim helps raise the area's awareness of strategies to overcome flexibility challenges, and looks for opportunities to embed day-to-day flexibility in teams, meetings and processes. Tim and the broader Flexibility Champions Network help promote a culture where individual flexibility choices appropriately include professional maturity, taking responsibility for outcomes, and suspending judgment about personal and client priorities.

Marilyn Nagel Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Cisco Systems

Marilyn Nagel is Cisco's Director of Diversity and Inclusion and brings a business-centric approach to diversity and inclusion with a track record of proven results. She has over six years experience within Cisco in roles that require large-scale change management, talent planning, and learning. She has a track record of defining a clear vision, establishing a winning strategy, and executing in a way that leads to success. Ms. Nagel has worked in academia, corporate training, and communications for almost thirty years. In 1990, Marilyn became Director of L & D for American Transtech a division of AT&T and in 1993 moved to American Express, where she led a global team as Director of Instructional Design for the Card division. During her tenure, Marilyn's organization developed multiple award winning training programs, transitioned learning from instructor led to computer based and implemented a leadership development program that was considered world class.

Joshua Henderson Partner, Nixon Peabody LLP

Joshua Henderson is a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice at Nixon Peabody LLP and represents employers in state and federal courts in all areas of labor and employment law, including discrimination, wrongful termination, wage-hour class actions, whistleblower, and sexual harassment, and in hearings before administrative agencies involving OSHA and labor-management issues. He also advises employers with respect to employment policies and contracts, employee handbooks, union organizing campaigns and collective bargaining, and investigations of alleged employee misconduct. In addition, Mr. Henderson is a popular public speaker on topics ranging from employer leave policies to workplace safety. He is also a professional, classically-trained singer, and performs frequently in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sharon Klun Director of Work/Life Initiatives at Accenture.

Sharon Klun is the Director of Work/Life Initiatives at Accenture. Her work includes designing strategies for work/life, generational leadership, engagement research, and career flexibility including the recent award winning Future Leave Program - which focuses on career off-and-on ramps. Under her leadership, Accenture has been included on the Working Mother Top 100 List, received the Conference Board's Moving into the Future award, and the Alliance of Work/Life Progress's Innovative Excellent award. In addition to being a national speaker quoted often in the media, she has received a Chamber of Commerce Quality of Life Award, two State gubernatorial appointments, and was profiled in the PBS special Running Out of Time. Ms. Klun also served 13 years in the US Army JAG division.
